NEWARK SYMPHONY HALL’S BLACK CREATIVE ECONOMY SUMMIT ANNOUNCES AMANDA SEALES AS KEYNOTE SPEAKER

The Three-Day Event Will Feature Economic Empowerment Programming for Black Creatives

NEWARK, NJ – June 12, 2024 — Newark Symphony Hall (NSH), is proud to announce the return of The Black Creative Economy (BCE) Summit, their annual gathering of artists, corporations, nonprofits, investors, and students discussing the impact and opportunities for all creative industries. This highly anticipated event will take place on June 24 – 26, 2024, bringing together artists, investors, and industry leaders to celebrate and amplify the economic impact of New Jersey’s Black and Brown creatives. As the largest Black Arts institution and venue, Newark Symphony Hall aims to foster an environment that celebrates and uplifts Black artists through the BCE Summit, shaping the future of industries through collaboration, innovation, and transformative partnerships.

Participating sponsors, impact investors, and art anchor institutions include Prudential, North to Shore, NJEDA, Newark Alliance, Audible, United Airlines, the City of Newark, Newark Arts, and the Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District. With their invaluable investment, the BCE Summit promises to serve as an experiential platform that drives the conversation on equity, offering growth and investment opportunities for multi-discipline artists.

“Last year’s summit was a powerful demonstration of the talent, resilience, and innovation of Black and Brown creatives in New Jersey. This year, we are raising the bar even higher,” says Talia Young, CEO of Newark Symphony Hall. “The Black Creative Economy Summit is not just an event; it’s a movement that challenges the status quo and amplifies voices that have too often been marginalized. We are committed to creating spaces where Black artists can thrive, connect, and transform industries. With the tremendous backing we received, we are redefining boundaries and unlocking the boundless potential of the Black creative economy.”

This year’s Black Creative Economy Summit offers an array of experiences including panel discussions featuring diverse speakers, fireside chats, live entertainment, networking opportunities, and an interactive market with vendors, food, live music, vibes, ancillary cannabis companies, dispensaries, and more. Gracing the stage with her wit, wisdom, and fearless approach, renowned actress, comedian, and social advocate Amanda Seales will serve as the Keynote Speaker as she delves into how she navigated through societal issues and embraced personal empowerment.

Offering unparalleled opportunities to engage with thought leaders, experience vibrant cultural expressions, and network with key stakeholders dedicated to empowering Black creatives, Newark Symphony Hall is illustrating the power of the diaspora.
