Lumaban, To Fight, presents the opportunity for the Filipino to approach adversity with both elegance and strength. Every year we experience changes, whether they be for better or for worse. This year, we Filipino-Americans were thrust into unfamiliar territory with new challenges, here and in the motherland.
The theme of Lumaban invites contestants to showcase how they are finding beauty in the battles they are fighting. Whether they are within or beyond themselves, the obstacles each contestant’s faces require them to tap into their inner warrior. This year we ask the contestants: Anong pinaglalaban mo? What are you fighting for? Why are you fighting? How will you prevail?
