Antoinette Montague, a Newark native, is a respected New York jazz and blues performer, educator, producer, and event promoter. She hosts a Saturday morning jazz radio show on WHCR 90.3fm, celebrating multi-generational jazz artists. A protege of Etta Jones, Carrie Smith, and Inez McClendon, Antoinette has mentored numerous artists herself and teaches at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Syncopated Leadership Program for MBA students. She is also an adjunct professor at Marymount Manhattan College, teaching jazz and blues singing, history, stage presence, auditioning, and organic music theory.
Montague teaches jazz and blues singing at various institutions, including Jazz Power Initiative, The New School, Marymount College, Newark School of the Arts, and for incarcerated individuals through MOTI. She performs at renowned venues such as the Blue Note, Dizzy’s Club, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Marcus Garvey Park, and more, leading her group, The Antoinette Montague Experience.
She is also the CEO of Jazz Woman to the Rescue.
