Formerly known as the Children’s Performing Arts Academy, Newark Symphony Hall’s Studio 1020 is an arts development program offering community-centered arts education and creative opportunities for young people ages 8-19.
Exposure to the arts relays a plethora of benefits, including enhanced self-confidence, personal and cognitive growth, and increased collaborative and leadership skills. Whether looking for pre-professional arts training, extracurricular experience, or a new after-school activity, Studio 1020 is open to all.
As finances are often a barrier for artists at any stage of their career, all Studio 1020 programs are designed with financial accessibility in mind. Beginning in 2020, we have eliminated tuition and registration fees to mitigate those unnecessary barriers. We value cost transparency, and any program-related expenses that participants must cover (i.e. parking, meals, etc.) are fully described and agreed upon prior to enrollment.
